The policy below covers all advertisements implemented in and bundled with Products. These rules are essential in maintaining a positive experience for everyone using CMEPEDIA modules. Check back from time to time, as these policies may change.

 1. Developer Terms apply to the entire user experience of your module.

Please be aware that CMEPEDIA`s Content Provider Distribution Agreement and Content Provider Policies (together, “Content Provider Terms”) apply to each module and to any ads or third-party libraries bundled or made available through the module. Offer your users a consistent, policy-compliant, and well-communicated user experience.

Ads are considered part of your module for content review and compliance with the Content Provider Terms. Therefore, all of the policies referred to above also apply. Please take care to use advertising which does not violate Content Provider terms.

 2. CMEPEDIA advertising and sponsorship guidelines

Advertising and sponsorship are important to CMEPEDIA in helping us to provide value for our users. These guidelines are to ensure we do business in keeping with CMEPEDIA values. Our users and customers expect CMEPEDIA to be trustworthy, independent, and to have integrity. Our advertising and sponsorship should support that expectation.

-CMEPEDIA accepts advertising for products and services that are of interest to users in their personal and as well as professional lives. Advertisements and sponsorship must be legal, decent, and truthful and comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and industry codes for the area in which they appear.

-Our users should immediately be able to distinguish between advertising and editorial content. Advertisement features need to conform to CMEPEDIA specifications.

-Advertisements for products making therapeutic claims without marketing authorization or CE marking (or local equivalent) should be submitted with all claims substantiated in full-length research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

-Sponsored content should be identifiable. The nature of any commercial relationship must be transparent to our users. Advertising and sponsorship should be delivered in context. Surreptitious or subliminal advertising is not allowed.

-CMEPEDIA does not allow advertising or sponsorship to influence editorial decisions.

-Online advertising or sponsorship should not impede users’ access to editorial content.

-We accept advertising and sponsorship from competitors.

-We do not accept advertising or sponsorship relating to tobacco products or products and services from tobacco companies, their foundations, or their wholly-owned subsidiaries.

-Advertising and sponsorship are subject to editorial oversight. CMEPEDIA's editor-in-chief reserves the right to accept and reject advertising and sponsorship proposals. If a proposal is refused for reasons outside these guidelines, the editor-in-chief will provide an explanation.

 3. Ads Context

Ads must not simulate or impersonate the user interface of any Product or notification and warning elements of an operating system. It must be apparent to the user with which Product each ad is associated or implemented.

 4. As Walls and Interstitial Ads

Interstitial ads may only be displayed inside the module with which they came. The content of these ads should comply with the guidelines described in paragraph 2 of this ad policy. Forcing the user to click on ads or submit personal information for advertising purposes to use a Product fully is prohibited. A prominent and accessible target must be made available to users in any interstitial ad so they may dismiss the ad without penalty or inadvertent click-through.

 5. Interfering with modules and Third-party Ads.

Ads associated with your Product must not interfere with other Products or their ads.
